Buying & Selling

We do not have a retail showroom to fill, and rarely advertise, so all our buying and selling is a result of networking and being offered the chance to acquire interesting vehicles and we can always consider selling any of our current fleet.

Rare 350i TVR Wedge from 1989

What makes it rare?

Well, there was only 1000 made between 1983 to 1989, and from those remaining most people that have tried to maintain them have incorporated ‘more modern improvements’ – however this one is restored and maintained to an exacting original specification and has unmolested 3.5L Rover V8 engine (which was politically beneficial at the time as the Arab countries did not want to buy a Ford engine). Producing around 190BHP and performance figures around a top speed of 130mph and a 0-60 of around 6.3 seconds and max torque of approx. 220lbft @4000rpm.

This appreciating classic can be for sale for offers around £20000.

‘AC Cobra’ with a 1968 registration

It is in quotes as it is a vehicle that Carroll Shelby has never touched. With original versions costing £millions, this is what is often referred to as a ‘continuation car’ – albeit a very good one!

This was not a standard formulae build to a price, but was individually hand built by a vehicle engineer with a lifetime of experience and a meticulous approach to the very last detail. Utilizing a Rover 3.5L V8 engine, 1990 Ford Cosworth chassis and running gear and a rare Fiero body shell it is at the top of the tributes and could be offered for sale at around £70000.

Volvo PV544 from 1959

With the original 1600cc mechanics and handling set up, and with original bodywork patina, this is a left-hand drive classic that is a pleasure to drive and an attention grabber as it is, or it could be developed further for a wide variety of uses. We have completely replaced the dashboard and all electrics to a sympathetic aged standard with the only nod to the present day being the new front seats (from an Audi TT) and modern inertia seat belts. In its present form it can be made available at around £15000, or it can be further developed to a standard or price of the buyers choice.

Triumph Spitfire 1500cc 1977

This classic was originally purchased to be a ‘Sunday afternoon social drive car’, but over the next 4 years of development, even though we kept the original engine and suspension structure, we took on the challenge of getting it to be the most competitive example of this icon. We did this without over stressing the engine but subtle work took the original 71BHP to 89BHP, and we also retained the original, often criticised single leaf spring suspension, and again developed subtle improvements that enabled it to compete far in excess of its original design – you can see it in action on our gallery pages, and a fully documented development and maintenance program can be made available on request.

We now feel we have taken it as far as it can go but would be delighted to see someone else enjoy it as much as we did. As of January 2004, we know the gearbox needs work and we are happy to get this sorted prior to the sale at around £8000. Alternatively, as there are many possible gearbox options available, if you should wish to take it without a working gearbox to enable further development then we would expect a sale at around £6000.

E Type Jaguar

A stunning 1969, series 2, Fixed head coup, with a Jaguar Heritage Certificate.

Note that this is a genuine series 2 – with the much preferred 4.2 Litre straight 6 engine, curved screen (requiring 3 windscreen wipers), the open headlights, the smaller doors, the revised rear end, and strictly a 2-seater. Original leather seats and large wooden steering wheel shows it is an unmolested original and can come with a great deal of documentation to establish this car’s immaculate history.

We would expect offers of around £100,000 for such an example.

MGB Roadster

A 1969 classic that comes with an original 1800cc engine and the stripped interior and full safety cage already prepared for classic rallies or other competitive use. However, on its first outing with us it had a low speed ‘bump’ with a tyre wall (can be viewed on our gallery of hill climbs – see Loton Park 2022). We purchased new body panels to enable a repair but by then we had moved our intentions to new disciplines, so this is now surplus to our requirements with little motivation to complete the repairs. We can fit the new panels (including paint or wrapping) or it can be sold as it is but including all the necessary body panels to make good – offers invited on all options.

Mazda MX5 Mk4 (ND) 2016 Icon specification.

Completely as it came ‘out of the box’ but the box was several stages up the specification ladder as just 600 Icons were made and were only available to UK buyers. Nothing special about the 1500CC engine, but all the professional reviews would suggest that the handling is the purest and manageable of all the models and a throwback to the simplicity and feel of the world renowned Mk1.

We are happy to use this during 2024 in our own fleet as a car that would be happy on hill climbs, sprints, auto tests and anything else we should want to throw at it – if you should want to take it off us, we would look for offers around £9000.

Mazda MX5 Mk4 (ND) 2019

Completely standard 1500cc model which we will be using in a variety of roles during 2024. An SE + specification that could be for sale at around £10,000.

Mazda MX5 Mk3 2006

Mk 1’s are too expensive, Mk2’s are a disaster as far as rust is concerned, so the Mk3 is the go-to model that is in demand.

Our model was driven all over the UK and used with no modifications for hill climb and sprints during most of 2023, however after much research, and towards the end of the season, we upgraded to Yellow Speed adjustable suspension and new grooved discs with competition brake pads supplied and fitted by the renowned BBR garage in Brackley.

This car is so versatile, we are happy to keep this in the fleet as a back-up for our regular competition vehicles, and/or a training car for newbies, but if someone else would wish to own it, then it can be made available for around £4500.

Toyota MR2 2003 roadster (facelift version)

A mid-engine 1800cc sports car with a well-deserved great reputation for handling and reliability, however it is surplus to our requirements for our competitive calendar this year so happy for someone else to take advantage of it. Well documented history that shows that all the nice extra specification was factory fitted from new, and it has since enjoyed a full-service history with only 2 former owners the latter being an MR2 club member. Offers invited around £4500.
