Date of our last visit: June 2024
Location: Staffordshire
Event type: Sprint
Address: Curborough Sprint Circuit, Netherstowe Lane off Wood End Lane, Litchfield, Staffordshire, WS13 8EJ
Telephone: N/A
Website: www.curborough.co.uk
Circuit approach: Note that some Sat Navs may try to take you off the A38 at the Litchfield turning and a long way down a narrow lane and a very tight turn in. So the preferred route, especially if you are towing, is to exit the A38 to go through the Fradley Park industrial estate; then the entrance is off a main road and then only 300 yards down the lane from the opposite direction.
Circuit entrance: The wide gates to the circuit are a right fork through the first gate, then left fork to the service road that will take you past the camping field and onto the paddock to the right
Catering facilities: Permanent café
Toilet facilities: Permanent block
Getting around – level/types of surfaces: All level firm roads, rough grass alongside paddock and in adjacent field
As a competitor
Organising club: 2 events: Notts CC and Scimfest
Club website: www.nottinghamsportscarclub.co.uk and www.scimitarweb.co.uk
Support vehicle/trailer location: Cars and vans can be parked on the rough grass verges alongside the paddock. However larger vehicles and motorhomes will need to park in the nearby rough grass field.
Paddock surface: Tarmac
Paddock power: No
Paddock water: No
PA announcements: Yes but rarely used; rely on marshalls
Return running type: Return road
Numbered paddock bays: Yes, painted on tarmac
Scrutineering: Stay with your car in your paddock space and the scrutineers will come to you
Timing supplier: www.timeteamlivetiming.co.uk and www.resultsman.co.uk
Competitor notes: Note that there are many different track layouts that can change from each event; Moving from paddock to start line is done in batches, but you return individually after the run
Camping
Camping permitted before an event: Yes
Camping location: On site FOC
Camping ground conditions: Grass verges alongside paddock or seperate rough grass field
Camping power: No
Camping water: No
Camping approach and entrance: As track
As a spectator
Spectator notes: Very good as you can see the whole track from the raised grass area (with limited seating) along one side of the track
Accessibility
Spectator accessibility notes: Small grass slope up to the track side fence. Concrete ramped disabled viewing platform mid way along trackside
Camping accessibility notes: No problem on the concreted paddock lane but then it can be the rough grass verges or the very rough grass separate field.
